GBYMN and FiG head off into the blogosphere!

Welcome to the new website for both the Gloucestershire Boys and Young Men Network and Fathers in Gloucestershire- the website for people in Gloucestershire (and beyond!) working around issues for boys, young men - young dads, and dads.

• Why have we provided a new website?
• Well, both the old GBYMN and FiG websites were a bit dated and it was difficult to update the sites as and when we wanted. Technology moves on and we're no longer so reliant on statutory provision to enable web access and input. GBYMN and FiG members from both the statutory and voluntary sector can now update the website - or blog if you prefer - as and when necessary. There was also a cost implication - we were very reliant on statutory funding to maintain the previous websites - using a simple blogging platform removes the cost element.
• Who and what is the website for?
• The website is aimed at professionals (teachers, school nurses, youth workers, family centre workers, practitioners from the community and voluntary sector etc) working with young men and dads in Gloucestershire - however we realise that the web has a far wider reach than that. Popular resources held on the old GBYMN website such as 'Know your Kit ' which have been downloaded across the UK and beyond will still be available via this blog - they'll be hosted on another site - just click the link ( when we've placed the resources on there - give us a chance!) and then download the resource you require. Hopefully it'll all work smoothly - if not let us know!
